THE SCHEDULE
Assessment & evaluation of scholastic & co-scholastic performance of the students will be carried out as per following schedule.

SYLLABUS FOR TEST/EXAMINATION

  • In order make tiny-tots free stress and strain in Pre-Primary classes (Nursary & KG) there will be no formal examination. Students shall be tested and promoted on the basis of regularly observed project word & assignments. Final promotion shall be based on cumulative record maintained by teachers.
  • In classes I to X there will be semester system as per implementation of CCE Scheme of CBSE. Syllabus of SA1 will not be included in SA2 (Final Exams) except basic concepts of Maths.
  • There will be formative assessments which will be based on activity and written test from a certain portion of syllabus (to be given by subject teacher before test.)

RIVISION WORK
Revision work will be undertaken for one week, before the commencement of every test exam. The parents are expected to help their wards in revision work regularly.


ASSESSMENT OF PRACTICAL WORK
Sue marks will be kept reserved for the practical work done by a student in his/her Workbook/Art & Craft Books/Scrap Books/ Project File/ Drawing files & Project work etc. as per the guidelines of DAV CAE and CBSE New Delhi.

DICTATION & HANDWRITING
Proper attention towards handwriting and vocabulary is to be given. Regular efforts will be made to improve and enrich the handwriting and vocabulary of the students. Due marks will be reserved for dictation and handwriting in each test upto Primary classes only.

SCHEME OF EVALUATION/ASSESSMENT
Primary-Secondary Sections
In order to reduce stress & strain of formal exam, the students from classes I-X will be regularly provided with the opportunities to perform in scholastic & non-scholastic areas. Their performance will be assessed on basis of participation & response to various lesson related activities/projects/assignments/worksheets. Every student will be provided with these academic opportunities for formative evaluation.
Promotion of a child to higher class will be made on the basis of cumulative result as per weightage mentioned already.(Page-IV)
Whole syllabus is split into two terms for scholastic assessment-I (SA1) & scholastic assessment-II (SA2).
Evaluation of scholastic areas (SA1 & SA2) will be done on nine point grading scale.

Note :  All assessments with regard to academic status of students will be done in marks & overall assessment will be given in grades.

  • The assessment of performance on areas like Work Experience, Art Education, Health & Physical Education will be done on a five pt. scale. GRADE – A,B,C,D,E
  • Assessment in co-scholastic i.e life skill will be done on 5 point scale, A,B,C,D,E
  • Assessment in co-scholastic areas i.e. Attitude and values, Literary & Creative skills, scientific skills, Aesthetic  skills, Eco Club, Health Club & Sports will be done on 3-point scale, A,B & C.

Pre-Primary Section
There will be no formal exam for classes Nursery & KG. Performance of our tiny tots will be adjusted on the basis of response to assignment/work sheets designed by teachers according to interest, grasping power, sensorial development of child. The parents will be intimated about progress of the child through Progress Report Card.

EXAMINATION RULES

  • Pupils absent from an examination for any reason will not be re-examined ordinarily and those absent from an examination without grave reason will appear in grade improvement exam. In case of serious illness, an application alongwith a medical certificate is to be submitted on or before the day of the test/examination.
  • A student who fails to appear in the Unit/SA1/II Test without permission will be fined Rs. 100/- per paper.
  • Absence from one or more subjects involves loss of marks for those subjects and excludes the pupil from being reckoned in order of merit or rank examination and from prizes also.
  • Progress Report Card is sent through the students after every scholastic assessment. It must be signed and returned by the parents within three days of its receipt positively.
  • Final result declared at the end of the academic year is final in all respects.
  • Revaluation of paper will be done with the permission after submitting the application and the fee of Rs. 100/-
  • A student whose school fee/dues/charges are not cleared, will not be allowed to appear in test/examinations and parents concerned will be responsible for the academic loss caused to their wards due to non-payment of the charges.

EVALUATION OF ALL ROUND DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENT’S PERSONALITY
A monthly record of scholar’s performance in various fields (Academic, Sports, Morning Assembly, Discipline, Punctuality, Uniform, General Conduct, English Conversation, Handwriting) is kept after proper observation and it forms the basis to adjudge the “Best Student” of each class/section, to be honoured at Annual Prize Distribution Function of the school.

IMPORTANT NOTE

  • Short Leave/Half Day Leave will not be granted to students unless it is an EMERGENCY.
  • No teacher should be approached for Private Tuition by parents.
